Mr Abiodun said that the suspects were aged between 27 and 40 years, all of Tsauni Area of Gwagwalada, Abuja and Lambata in Niger State.
Mr Abiodun said that the attack occurred at about 3:40 a.m.
The police spokesperson said that operatives were deployed to the scene at about 9:00 a.m. on Friday and recovered six bodies.
The police command in Niger says it has arrested two suspects for criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, and cheating in Minna.
Mr Abiodun said the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, when the assailants reportedly rustled some cattle and set several shops ablaze.
The children were allegedly abducted from Lambata area of Niger.
According to him, a locally made gun was recovered.
The two suspects are both of the same address.
“The suspect is in custody under investigation, and efforts to arrest others are in progress,” Mr Abiodun stated.
The spokesperson added that the suspects, who confessed to the crime, said that they were fleeing to Kogi State before the arrest.
